If you already have a collection of
British Bank notes, or plan on getting one, this book will save you a lot of research
time and makes a great accompaniment to the 'Collectors coins GB 2004'
book covering coins dated 1821 - 2003 available here.
It contains current market values for all
Treasury notes 1914 - 1928 and Bank of England Bank notes 1694 - 2002.
(Mainland / England only, not
including Northern or Southern Ireland, Scottish issues, Channel islands, Isle of Man or colonies).
With listings by date,
signature and serial number of all known varieties, it
really is the best value A5 paperback on English Banknotes.
It's a small A5 book (20 x
14.5cm) and is especially handy to take to shops, club meetings, boot sales or
other places where it isn't practical to take a giant heavy book.
The book is written by R.J
Marles, a numismatic author I have enjoyed reading since 1988 and having
just been made aware of this title myself I am enjoying it very much. It
contains all the useful facts I expected.
It also goes into more detail with
error coins and different variety combinations than most other far more
expensive books.
